Learning to drive is one of life’s milestones. It is a challenge, but brings huge rewards - independence, convenience, job opportunities, social opportunities. It is something that most people aspire to, but not something that can, or should, be taken for granted.

Our aim is to make the learning process as painless as possible, as short as possible, as enjoyable as possible, but to ensure that you become a safe driver for life. The process of learning to drive can really be broken down into two component parts - learning how to control the car (actually very much the easiest part !), and learning how to be safe, and survive, on the road. Along the way we will help you in every way we can to pass both your Theory Test, and your Practical Test, but these are just two hurdles on the path to becoming a safe driver.

As with most skills and abilities in life, the learning should continue every time you step into your car - once you have passed your Practical Test you really start to learn... The continuing, appalling, collision and injury statistics for young and newly qualified drivers show that, clearly, many Instructors are not doing enough to instil the correct attitude, anticipation, and forward planning skills that are vital to keeping out of trouble on the roads. I would not be satisfied with my pupils “just passing the Test” - I need to be sure that we have given them the best possible chance of becoming a safe driver for life. Passing the Practical Test demonstrates only a basic level of competence - there is so much more to learn, to know, to understand, if you want to become a good driver. For that reason we strongly recommend further driver training after you pass your Practical Test.

Pass Plus is obviously one step in this direction, but we can also point you towards other training. Why not consider an Advanced Driving course, or a practical Skid Control course? We use modern, medium-sized vehicles, with power steering, air conditioning, and, of course, dual controls. Dual controls, especially in the early stages of learning, are a vital safety feature and enable an experienced Instructor to keep you out of trouble at all times. It is likely that, in the not too distant future, you will ONLY be able to take a Practical Driving Test in a dual-controlled car.

We operate a strict NO SMOKING, NO MOBILES policy for your comfort and safety. We operate according to the Driving Standards Agency and the Driving Instructors Association codes of conduct for professional Instructors. All our instructors are CRB checked for your peace of mind...
